Engobes are used to coat your clay body to your preferred finish/color and are a great base to achieve variability in your glaze results.
- Engobes will impact glaze results when used as a base and tend to influence the flow of glazes. We recommend 2 coats of each glaze.
- Fires matte. Apply clear glaze to intensify color or for use on dinnerware.
- The engobes will not stick to kiln shelves when 2 coats are applied, heavier application may cause the glaze to flux.

Stoneware Gloss Glaze Info
Stoneware Gloss Glazes can be used in design, all over coverage and are the ideal product for intermixability at mid-range and high-fire temperatures. The integrity of your design will remain unchanged as these glazes are incredibly stable and will not move or combine with surrounding colors.

Stoneware Crystal Glaze General Info:
- Stoneware crystal glazes are designed to expand upon the surface with dazzling bursts of color.
- Fired results will vary based on ware’s orientation.
- Crystals will settle to the bottom of the jar and will need a good mixing prior to initial use.
- Avoid placing crystals near the bottom third of a vertical piece as they may cause additional movement during firing.
- Crystals will flow more than the base glaze.
- Over-application or heavy deposition of the crystals can cause pinholing or running.
- Results may vary. The choice of clay body, thickness of application, firing process, and temperature will greatly affect the fired results.
